Two Confessions

I have a confession....

I am super obsessed with this little adorable creature!  I honestly think he is the handsomest boy in the whole wide world and I'm so lucky I get to spend every day with him (even if he might also be the naughtiest)!

 I have another confession....

Sometimes, I give in when he reasons with me, 'but you can paint my nails too, mommy!' and holds out his little teeny fingers.  Look, it's brownish grey, that's a manly color right??  Plus, rock stars wear nail polish.  He's going to be a doctor, so he might as well get this wild streak out now. ;)

I don't really like Blue Nails

Let me share with you my little nail polish saga from Wednesday. It began with my trying out a 'new' shade. I bought China Glaze - For Audrey when I got everyone's Christmas nail polishes, but I hadn't tried it out. After seeing the Greenport nail polish that I wrote about before, I decided I really wanted to see if I liked blue/greens on, as I never used to. Well, yeah, I still don't. It just looks too middle school for me, I don't know? I saw the host on that makeup artist show wearing it last season, I didn't like it on her either.


For Audrey, obviously, is supposed to be Tiffany blue, and alludes to Breakfast at Tiffany's starring Audrey Hepburn. Well, here is my comparison... it's a pretty close match but not exact. The nail polish is just a little darker and a little more greenish. Actually, it is a pretty good dupe now that I look at this picture again.



One positive about the polish is that it helped me FINALLY find a purse! I've been looking for one since before Christmas, since my 'everyday' one is quite old and has seen better days. I was browsing handbags for the millionth time, and found one that was almost the same shade as my nails! It's so pretty, and that was the sign I was looking for that this is the one I should get. So now I have a new purse and if I'm feeling crazy I can paint my nails to match it! Happy Ending. :)



Update: I put some silver glitter over the top and the polish looks 10 times better. And now it REALLY matches my pocketbook!

Lemming for Greenport Nail Polish

I just came across the funnest thing... Essie is launching a trio of Long Island themed polishes... but not just Long Island, NORTH FORK! I was really lame and excited about this, because hey that's where my grandparents live, I spent my summers there! I came across this epic discovery while reading Scrangie's post which features pretty swatches (she is one of 'the' nail polish bloggers, in case you don't follow such things).


I'm not usually a fan of blue or green nail polish, but I really want Greenport! Just because of all the teenage summers strolling through the shops, the days of pulling up the boat to the pier and eating seafood at Claudio's... so fun! Plus, the color is just so summery and pretty. Even if they don't look anything like the colors of the Sound like the 'inspiration' for the line claims. They should have created much darker blues, have they even ever been to the North Fork? Oh well, I don't care, I just want this color. So, that was my little excitement for the day yesterday. Too bad they didn't have more colors, I really would have loved a Southold! Maybe I'll grab a stately mid-tone blue and just call it Southold. :)
