I'm on a Boat!

Bobo had a great time on the ferry boat down to Long Island in July.  It was really hot the whole weekend, except when we were on the boat.  I was freezing since I forgot a sweater, but luckily I remembered to bring a hoodie for Bobo, one that Julie bought him in England.  I love all his teeth (anyone seen that commercial?).

Here's a picture of my dad with the second cutest little muchkin ever... yup it's me!  I think I was two here.  And below, twentysomething years later is me with the cutest munchkin ever... my Bobo, who is almost three here!  I could adjust the colors to look the same, but you get the idea.  Full circle.

These are passport photos.  They were REJECTED because they were no where near the correct size necessary to obtain a legal United States of America Passport.  But, I still liked them so I took a picture before going back to get ones of an appropriate and acceptable format.  So, long story short - soon (hopefully) we will have our passports in hand and Bobo will be introduced to the wonderful world of international travel!

Waiting at the Fair

Yesterday there was a Circus in town.  I wanted to take Bobo to see the acrobats, but my idea was vetoed.  There were no 'animal' acts listed, so I agreed that Bobo might not make it through it, or worse, might try to jump into the ring like he kept asking!  The "midway" was open before the show though, so we went there, lured by the pony ride.

Sadly, the pony ride did not translate into reality.  We bought the ticket, stood in line and then as soon as it was Bobo's turn to get in the saddle... no way.  There was a giant slide next to the ponies, and that's all he wanted anything to do with.  Oh well, at least we got to LOOK at the ponies.  Here he is with his 'golden ticket' to go on the object of his desire... the slide.

Ferry Boat to Long Island

Just got home from Long Island after a long but exciting weekend.  Bobo got to hang out with his great-grandparents, Zsa Zsa and Gramps, at Paradise Point as well as visit the family homestead, Howell Holme where Grampy and Kathy were staying.  We  soaked up some sun and waves on the beach at Founder's Landing where we also got to go for a great Lobster Fest for Saturday dinner.  The round trip ferry boat rides were a great hit, and so was playing with Rocky, the one-eyed kitty.  We rounded off the weekend with lots of delicious food, shopping at the Tanger Outlets, and plenty of playing and didn't get home tonight until a few hours into Bobo's beauty sleep.  Hope everyone else had a fantastic weekend as well!

In other news, we're trying to get him to be more 'British' by saying this like 'knickers', 'brillo' and 'well-chuffed!'  Dual citizenship is right around the bend! :)

Summer Chocolate Face

I love this, perfect summer memory!  Nothing like a breakfast of a rich chocolate muffin while the warm air beckons for a day of playing outside.  Fresh flowers from the garden help too.  I'm starting a new 'starred' label for my favorite single pictures.  This way I can eventually organize them into sections that are easily clickable and findable, and all my favorites will be right there!

I took this the spring before my little Bobo was born, back when I still let me DSLR see the light of day.  Used the Orton technique post-process.  Too busy to be mucking about taking close up portraits of pretty flowers now, but I guess what that is what retirement is for!  :)

Puzzle Master

Bobo has been really into puzzles lately.  He has a rack of about seven of them and he loves taking them apart and putting them back together.  Of course he can do them all super fast, even this one which is the 'hardest' so far.  And of course he's now torn of half of the picture part of this puzzle but he still knows where all the pieces go!

I don't know where he gets these ideas from!  I don't think he's even ever heard the expression 'bun in the oven'... guess he just thought it would be a good way to eat breakfast, through his tummy!

Silhouette, Six Months

I've been seeing a lot of silhouette art lately and I have been meaning to make some of Arin for-eh-vah.  I want some to frame, maybe some of those cool multiple ones would be fun too.  I don't know, I'm playing around with ideas.  Here is a quick one I did of my six-month old little Bobosaurus, it would be cute for a little card or part of a progression set, I dunno.  By the way, I absolutely cannot stand the cuteness of looking through all the pics from when he was this little...

Jumping on the JumpSport

Bobo got an early birthday present a few days ago... his BIG birthday present: a huge 14' JumpSport trampoline!

So far we love it, and I mean everyone!  It is so much fun and we can't get enough!  The only problem is mosquitos love it too, even during the day, so we have to get our mosquito eradicator machine up and running.  But, if you keep moving they can't get you right??  Plus that makes it such great exercise.

I bought the huge safety net to go along with it, but it's still sitting in my driveway in pieces waiting to be put up... I get really nervous each time we have gone on because Bobo wants to jump near the edge of course, or run around in circles, and I'm terrified he will fall off.  So that's getting put up as soon as I can recruit some help.

I haven't even been on a trampoline in years... and really its even more fun than I remembered.  I'm really glad I went for the JumpSport, because they come with a warranty and last years and years, plus they have great customer service.  I bought it on Monday afternoon and it was delivered Thursday morning!  Plus I had a question and they sent me an email response and then called in case I had any follow ups!

Now I just want to put some landscaping fabric covered with mulch down for under the trampoline area... which is going to be behind the beach (which I'm also redoing this year).  We didn't get a swing set, but I think Bobo is pretty happy with this instead.

I Heart Cinnamon Buns

So, if you read any of my posts about the weekend at Pioneer Woman's ranch, you know that her Amazing Cinnamon Rolls were a huge feature of the weekend and were totally even more amazing in person than they look in her pictures.  SO.  FLIPPING.  DELICIOUS.  We made them a few times and didn't follow the directions so they didn't turn out as good as they were there... but dang they were still delicious.  And the dough... makes AMAZING Buttered Rosemary Rolls, which are also in her cookbook and you should make immediately as well.

Here are some pictures of our Valentine's Day Ladies Night in which we made... a few dozen cinnamon rolls.  Yum. 

Waiting for cinnamon rolls to finish baking is a real drag, especially when you've been waiting for hours for the dough to rise...

Oh so worth it!

Annoying

I keep getting a bunch of spam comments and it's really annoying me.  I promise my readership is not large enough to warrant your ads for male enhancement and pharmacuticals.  Not to mention they DO NOT SPEAK CHINESE so why are you putting Chinese spam on my posts??  Hello brain-dead.

So I did the obnoxious thing and put a word verification requirement on comments... if you're a blogger it doesn't affect you so sign up for one if you haven't already!  If that doesn't work I'm going to block anonymous posting, it's just too annoying to have to go a few times a week to old entries and delete this nonsense!

Adorable Singer, Tiffany Alvord

Someone's blog had a link to this girl's videos and I love them!  She is 17 and so adorable and she sings all the songs I love singing along to on the radio.  She has a ton of videos, I've only listened to a few... go check her out!
