Early Morning Tea Party

For Christmas, Lauren brought my mom over a lovely tea sampler from some posh English brand.  It contained several bags of eight different varieties, and was all nicely packaged into convenient little sleeves and placed gently into compartments.  All this effort on their part was for naught, because now that Bobo can reach up on the counters no tempting box can escape unscathed.

Yeah, that was a fun way for me to start the day, trying to match up tea varieties...  And look at his innocent little face, as if he just stumbled upon these neatly arranged tea packets just left by the Tea Bunny or something.  I especially enjoyed that he placed some cars alongside the tea packets... just adds a little something to the arrangement, don't you think?

This can't be Normal...

Okay, so check out this amazingly happy, exuberantly joyful little Bobo and try to imagine what has him in a state of such unabashed glee:

Now, is THIS what you were imagining? Because it's one thing that Bobo finds to be hilarious fun:

Yeah... I just don't know. Let's just say that this picture is one of a series... and this is NOT the most silly/questionable/weird. :) I guess when someone is washing dishes they just present way too tempting of a target to be missed, eh?

America's Funniest Bobo

My mom decided to watch some America's Funniest Home videos just now, and they had a section on 'redneck women' in which said females fell over, fell off stuff, or did some other clumsy embarrassing thing. It was horrifying, but we were laughing, so Bobo started laughing too. Then, once it went to commercial, Bobo decided HE would provide the entertainment.

He's spent the past 15 minutes giving me heart attacks by running full speed across the room to dive head first into anything and everything, and every single time he thinks he's hilarious. Maybe I should take a video and send it in myself. :X

Skittle Crusher

For Easter my Dad got Arin a huge bag of Skittles (along with an unreasonable amount of other goodies), and he had been happily chomping on them asking for his "king-ghee" every day. Until the day he figured out he could do this instead:

Just to avoid confusion, those are gooey, icky, drippy Skittles that have been crushed once or twice by the powerful jaws of a Bobosaur and then artfully arranged for his mommy to discover after they had hardened onto the table. Here is a very pleased-with-himself Bobosaur. (Taste the Rainbow!)

All Your Breakfast Are Belong To Us

I usually eat my breakfast in the living room while Arin has his morning ba-ba. Usually its ucky bran-type cereal, but sometimes, when the moon waxes over the the third house, I will have some delectable Bobo-tempting treat like a Pillsbury cinnamon bun. On such days as this, if I am so absentminded as to wander off mid-bite to attend to some pressing matter like putting a spoon in the dishwasher or fetching Bobo's discarded socks from the bedroom, this is what I will find upon my return:

Little man just can't wait for his own! Guess it tastes better when you *sneak* it.

Danish Cookie Monster

When it comes to getting into something he wants, Arin is a genius... an EVIL genius. He couldn't stack Legos for the longest time, but he sure had no issue taking the top off this huge tin of Danish cookies. Todd brought them home from school, and someone left them in the living room. I didn't discover his new 'trick' until he'd eaten about 50 of them I'm sure. This is because after sneaking a cookie out, he would carefully fit the top back on and push it closed before enjoying his tasty treat... every time.

I hid them on top of the fridge for a while, but I wanted to see if he could still do his trick. Yup! Just look at this face:

Cabinet Dweller

Eep, I found a sneaky little gnome that lives in kitchen cabinets and steals all the lids to tupperware so they never ever match!

Potty Time!

Arin finally has a potty! I picked out the Baby Bjorn one, and it's nice and sturdy and apparently very comfy. There was the temptation to buy one of those huge wooden thrones, but I erred on the side of practicality. And Arin loves it! As a 'Bumbo for Big Boys'. He thinks its fantastic... as a toy.

He is still a bit young to try to use it as a toilet, obviously. I've put him on it a few times to do his business, but he wasn't grasping the concept... he was more interested in springing up and running about buck nekkid.

He thinks it's great though... one day he brought all his blankies into the bathroom and proceeded to place his potty delicately on top of them, like it needed some pampering so it could take a nap! He also likes to drag it out of the bathroom and bring it to the living room to sit on. And, of course, he loves to put stuff in it! He loves to put stuff in the real toilet too, but that is way off limits. This is easier for him to sneak toys into.

As you can see, my little Bobo is playing mother hen here, laying his eggs on his little potty nest. It's fun to walk into the bathroom and see a colorful rainbow of balls sitting just so in the potty. I think I will move it downstairs for a while until he's more inclined/able to think about using it as a toilet instead of a play toy. :)

My sweet little angel at Easter last year. I can't believe how much more chubby and baby-ish he was! Awwr.

This is Arin crawling around outside before he could walk well!

"Bobo Cousteau"

His first standing up was pulling himself up on the side of his pack'n'play and nomming on it.

I love this picture, I think he looks like a little colorful lizard! One of my favs.

Another favorite... Arin loves chocolate now but last Easter he was more enamored with putting everything BUT chocolate in his mouth.

My little devil

This outfit just never gets old! I still think its funny every time I put it on him. (And it's sort of true, too...) Unfortunately we've had it since Halloween and the elastic on the pants is starting to stretch out... pretty soon they'll be falling off!

Notice that he is trying to grab something off the counter (probably chocolate) when he knows he should not be up there.

Those little ears and adorable tail do it for me every time. I'm sure he'll love these pics when he's older!

Chocolate Ninja

I don't know how this keeps happening... my Bobosaur is a NINJA. A chocolate ninja.

I was in the kitchen washing dishes earlier, and when I finished I realized Arin hadn't eaten anything (he wasn't hungry for breakfast), and I felt like a bad mommy so I grabbed a nutri-grain bar figuring at least he would have something in his stomach.

I walk into the living room to give him the tasty snack and was shocked to discover that my sweet boy, who had been playing so nice and quietly so I could clean up, had somehow snuck into the kitchen (the gate had been up all weekend to prevent him from getting Valentine's treats), grabbed a big box of turtle chocolates and snuck back into the living room stealthily, where he helped himself to a chocolate coma!

He just looked up at me with this glazed-over expression, and held up his hand for me to clean off! He was literally drunk off chocolate. You can see it in his face here, he was just laid out, barely able to suck the chocolate off his fingers. I think he only had one, but I guess they are strong... Oh, and of course he had spit out all the nuts all over himself and the floor. They get in the way of chocolate, you know.

So much for the Nutri-grain bar.

Almost V-Day

This year Arin will be big enough to appreciate Valentine's Day for what it really means... chocolate. He's obsessed already, I can already imagine what a great day he'll have with a whole bunch of treats to sample.

This is from my birthday breakfast that Julie and Lauren made... but it gets the idea across.

Someone small and sweet stole my heart... and then ate it messily.

Here is the progression of my baby from slim little 90th percentile height, 25th percentile weight, to 90th percentile height, 75th percentile weight! Just kidding, he's still a little beanpole! His little thighs are so skinny!

Anyway, this is another example of how Grampy is leading him down the path of excess... always bringing over Dunkin' Donuts! These ones were all stale and left over from Thanksgiving, but it didn't stop Arin from trying to gnaw some deep-fried goodness between those sharp chompers of his.

YUM!!!!
